autumn dejection -
a watery layer on top
of curdled milk

mooncake day -
still so many things
untasted

I want to take
this crude ache and twist it
bend it, force it
into a shape so exquisite
that I can make a gift of it

autumn wind -
I step on this leaf
and not that

Haiku articles

On my writing group blog - Cabbage Soup - I've posted about some haiku articles I had published a while back: The Alchemy of Haiku, originally published in Blithe Spirit and Haiku Lessons, originally published in Yellow Moon.

September sun -
the park sweeper's
camouflage trousers

it was
in the dream
the voice that said
the answer
is here

summer's end
an ice cube melting
in the street

out of a bed
of colourful flowers -
a magpie

summer grasses
grown long and gone
to seed

lazy Sunday -
from somewhere else the sounds
of argument

summer dusk
the streetlight turns
from pink to amber

heatwave commuter -
a bouquet blossoms
from his back-pack
