This blog has gone through changes over the years but I am now using it as a place to gather together my published haiku, tanka, haibun and the occasional piece of writing that fits none of those categories. The appeal of these forms is that they help me stay grounded and remind me of the power of simplicity.

sometimes I hear the language of my home
in old songs mostly just a word or two
once it seems in every twenty years
I hear someone who sings it fluently
then turns and walks away
[This is not haiku, but it's strongly influenced by haiku. ]
